Corn Meal Mush

1 cup corn meal (usually need 1/4 cup more)
1 cup cold milk
3 cups boiling water
1 1/2 teaspoon salt. (little to no salt if frying in margarine)


Mix corn meal with cold milk.
add to boiling salted water
cover; cook over boiling water 30 minutes
or over medium direct heat for 7 to 10 minutes.

Stir occasionally.

Serve hot with milk and sugar or pour into loaf pan to set for Fried Mush.

Double recipe for one glass loaf pan.
